Kahibah market day

The Kahibah community will again join together to celebrate 2019 with a market day with activities and entertainment.

Following from the very successful 2017 and 2018 events, this years markets will be even bigger and better. All activities will be located in Kahibah Memorial Park (parking in Frith St and others).

“The previous celebrations have been a great success, bringing many of our old and new community together” said Miss Sarah Smith, chair of the Kahibah Business and Community Alliance.

Kahibah born-and-bred international magician Joel Howlett (JD’s World of Magic) will again headline a showcase of community, school and professional performers. Joel will keep both the young and older audience entertained.

Activities for the kids will include a jumping castle, pony rides and climbing wall. Stone Real Estate and Sarjo Conveyancing are gold sponsors for the kids activities.

LMCC and other sponsors are also helping to ensure another quality event. Additional sponsors are welcome.

A range of market stalls, sausage sizzle, cakes and other food and drink will be available on the day, as well as food available from Kahibah’s wonderful food outlets. Supported by Heritage Meats, Kahibah Bakery and Kahibah Minimart. Many of the Glebe and Hexham Street shops will be open.

Kahibah Business and Community Alliance and Greater Charlestown Sustainable Neighbourhood Group (GC SNG) will continue to develop their community projects. For oral histories, we are looking for written personal recollections of around 500 words.  GC SNG are involved with many positive community initiatives.

The Kahibah Business and Community Alliance also hopes to use the celebration as a way of connecting with the community on other issues that may enhance local business.

“Kahibah is a wonderful place with fantastic access to many things” says Sarah who goes on to say “the markets will provide a chance to come together, have fun, meet our neighbours, and learn more about where we live.”
