A child has died after a single vehicle crash north of Newcastle yesterday.
About 5.50pm (Sunday 21 July 2019), a 29-year-old woman was driving a Mazda sedan north on New Line Road, East Seaham, when the vehicle left the road and hit an electricity pole, causing the vehicle to roll.
The woman, and a three-year-old girl in the front passenger seat, suffered facial lacerations and were taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment.
A six-year-old boy in the rear of the vehicle died at the scene.
A crime scene was established and officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended to conduct inquiries.
The female driver has been subjected to mandatory blood and urine tests at hospital and inquiries continue.
