Lake Macquarie’s young people will share ideas, attend live events and showcase their talents in a range of exciting programs, as part of Youth Week 2019.
This year, Lake Macquarie City Council is supporting eight Youth Week events across the City from 10-18 April, giving local young people a platform to express their ideas and views, act on issues that affect their lives and, most importantly, enjoy themselves.
Manager Community Services, Andrew Bryant, said the nine-day program included a wide range of activities, from live events and creative workshops to sporting and fitness activities.
“Youth Week encourages young people to showcase their talents, celebrate their contribution to the community and have fun,” Mr Bryant said.
Youth Week aims to highlight the contribution of young people in our community.
It also promotes and encourages the active involvement of 12-24-year-olds in the coordination of activities that increase community awareness of young people and the issues important to them.
