International pro skater and a Newcastle local, Poppy Starr Olsen has finished 2018 on a high, winning Bronze for Australia in the first World Skate Olympics sanctioned World Championships event in Nanjing China.
Apart from being part of this elite group of pro skaters, Poppy’s talents extend into the art world as a jewellery designer. She creates and sells her work to help fund her Olympic dream. Her jewellery is available both online and in stores across the country, including Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery Shop.

Fresh young talent is the focus at the Gallery this month, and as visitors come to see Poppy Starr, they are also able to see the newly installed exhibition First Class 18 – a popular annual showcase of outstanding work produced by Hunter and Central Coast HSC Visual Arts students from the previous year.
