Join entrepreneur, speaker and mentor Kim Liddell at The Place: Charlestown Community Centre on Friday 8 March, 1.30-3.30pm for a delicious high tea to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Mayor of Lake Macquarie, Councillor Kay Fraser, who will speak at the event, said attendees were in for an entertaining and inspiring afternoon.
“International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and the political achievements of women,” Cr Fraser said.
“I am honoured to be speaking at this year’s event centred on the theme ‘Balance for Better’.
“While we have come so far in terms of women’s rights, we still have some way to go. Collectively we all have a part to play in building a more gender-balanced world.”
The high tea event is $10 with all proceeds donated to Barefoot College to help life women and girls out of poverty. Massages, raffles, champagne on arrival, high tea and performances, are all included. Tickets can be purchased online.
International Women’s Day is an annual initiative that celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the globe.
This event is presented by Lake Macquarie City Council, The Place: Charlestown Community Centre and Endota Spa.
Speaker Profile – Kim Liddell
Kim is an innovative entrepreneur, speaker and mentor. She founded Non Destructive Excavations Australia Pty Ltd, subterranean safety specialists for the building and construction industries in 2005. She is currently in start-up mode with her new business Slurry Recyclers, a purpose-built construction waste recycling facility for Western Sydney.
