The Belmont Baths amenities block will be demolished and replaced with a new amenities building and landscaping under a $720,000 project starting next week.
Council’s Asset Manager, Helen Plummer, said the new amenities block will feature an accessible change room and aquatic wheelchair storage.
“The new amenities block will have better facilities for visitors and locals to Belmont Baths, which have been very popular since reopening in December,” Ms Plummer said.
The amenities will be fenced off and closed to the public from Tuesday 29 January while the works are undertaken. Temporary toilets will be provided during construction and the baths will remain open.
Works include external showers, family change room, ambulant change room, four additional toilets, an accessible change room and aquatic wheelchair storage, and foreshore landscaping.
Two disabled car spaces will be improved to meet current standards.
The new facility is expected to open in May.
This stage of the project is partly funded by the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.
Council thanks the community for their patience while these works are carried out.
