Freda Priestly, who attends Anglican Care’s ‘Alkira Respite and Day Therapy Centre’ at Kilpatrick Court, Toronto, will turn 100 on Saturday, October 13.
In true Freda style, Anglican Care hosted a special 100th birthday party for her this morning, (Thursday, October 11), to celebrate with her family and friends.
Of course, one of the highlights for the new centurion was receiving a Congratulatory Message from Her Majesty, The Queen.
Freda’s son, and primary carer, Kevin credits her longevity to three things; a sustained healthy lifestyle, never smoking and never drinking alcohol.
“She has always been an extremely hard worker over her life, always doing something and never sitting still,” said Kevin.
“She is still living at home and we are in the same house where mum grew up in Teralba. She loves still being at home but enjoys visiting Alkira each Thursday,” said Kevin.
Family are a big part of Freda’s life; with four children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren a part of her life.
