An $8million overhaul of Lake Macquarie City Council’s holiday parks has helped Belmont Lakeside Holiday Park make it to the finals of a peak industry awards program.

The site was this week named as a finalist in the ‘Best Holiday Park Mid North Coast (more than 100 sites)’ category of the Caravan & Camping Industry Association NSW 2018 Awards of Excellence.

Council Manager Property and Business Development, Kate Cramp, said Belmont Lakeside, as well as the three other sites under the Lake Mac Holiday Parks banner, had recently relaunched with a new brand, new website and significant upgrades to facilities.

Works included swimming pool upgrades, new cabins – including accessible cabins, multipurpose recreation buildings, new amenities blocks, camp kitchens, office extensions, road reconstructions, new powered sites, electricity supply upgrades and landscaping.

“Over the past seven years, an $8 million capital works program has been completed at all four of our holiday parks. This has been funded wholly from park revenue and has delivered a huge range of improvements,” Ms Cramp said.

Belmont Lakeside is rated 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor and has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence for the past four years. It is TripAdvisor’s highest-ranked specialty lodging accommodation in Belmont.

“Belmont Lakeside is a customer-centric park, and our park managers, Peter and Stacey Jenner, strive continually to improve every facet to ensure guests enjoy their stay,” Ms Cramp said.

“Making it to the finals of these awards is recognition of the hard work of our team and the consistently high standard of the venue.”

The CCIA Awards of Excellence acknowledge ‘the high standard and excellent quality products and services’ within the camping and caravan industry.

Winners will be announced at a gala dinner at Sydney’s Luna Park on Monday, October 15.
