A proud Heat coach Helen Grogan with the Charlestown A Grade Netball champions

Heat was too fast, too well drilled and just too darn good in their 54-45 A Grade grand final victory over Crossfire at the Whitebridge Netball courts on Saturday.

The enthusiastic young Heat outfit skipped away to a 15-10 lead at quarter time, and despite a tremendous effort by the Crossfire girls, at no stage could they pull back the deficit.

Heat goal shooter Claire Kowland was in brilliant form, shooting the lights out for the winners, despite Crossfire’s clever ‘double defending’ tactics which made life difficult for the Heat star in an interesting second quarter duel.

The win was a fitting finale for the Heat girls who suffered a heartbreaking loss to Job Done in 2017 premiership decider.

They put their heads down, rolled up their sleeves, proceeded to take all before them in the 14 rounds of competition, and finished the job on Saturday.
