Heat coach Helen Grogan keeping her girls’ minds on the job at the half-time break

Charlestown Netball Association frontrunners Heat easily accounted for second-placed Watters in the top of the table A Grade clash at Charlestown Netball Courts on Saturday.

Heat started slowly out of the blocks to lead by 3 points at the first break before stepping up a gear in the second quarter to take a commanding 29-12 lead at half-time.

From there on the young guns were simply too fast, too fit and too good for their more experienced rivals. The Heat girls even took time out to exchange positions on the court as the competition favourites raced away to a 55-29 victory, to take an unassailable lead in the A Grade competition.

Coach Helen Grogan could be seen at each break telling her troops to keep their minds on the job, and to avoid any complacency.

In other games, Crossfire kept the reigning premiers out of the top four with a commanding 57-41 victory, while Sass defeated Fury 62-38 and Purnell defeated Fever 63-27.
