The views from the 16 storey Highpoint tower, ready to begin construction in Charlestown, go on forever.
Workmen have been on the site in recent weeks preparing for the commencement of a new residential and commercial block, the tallest in the City of Lake Macquarie, that will enable residents near the top to see both the Pacific Ocean and Lake Macquarie.
At the official launch of the project this week, Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said this development, and a similar project at Warners Bay, show a vote of of confidence in the City.
“It’s all about activating our town centres,” she said. “There’s a real need for this type of development. Charlestown is definitely growing.”
Highpoint, located near the main traffic lights on the corner of the Pacific Highway and Dudley Road, will have ground floor commercial space and one-to-three bedroom apartments above.
