Twelve-year-old approached in Gwandalan

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District are investigating a reported child approach which occurred on the state’s Central Coast.

About 3pm on Saturday, June 2, a 12-year-old girl was walking on Aldinga Road, Gwandalan, about 26km south of Lake Macquarie.

The girl was approached by a man driving a red/maroon coloured Toyota Prado with black roof rails, who attempted to engage in conversation with her.

The girl reported the incident to her family, who then contacted Police.

The man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 50s, with an average build and fair complexion. He is said to have short red hair and red marks on his face, arms and neck.

He was wearing a blue and red-coloured long-sleeved flannelette shirt.
