Lake Mac Libraries has everything you need to keep you and your family busy this May – whether its artists on show or the monthly book club and book chat, there are lots of activities in the local library.

Get the guidance you need for a successful HSC experience, on Tuesday, May 16, 7pm at Charlestown Library. Learn writing techniques specific to English paper one, in a well-structured manner and learn how you can turn a good answer into a great answer to grab those extra marks.

Also, on Saturday, May 12, 10am-1pm, there will be a day of fun and education for the whole community. Hunter Water will be hosting an event for Swansea and the surrounding communities, which includes a live water show for kids, experiments and demonstrations, VR headsets, face painting, animal balloons, story time, barbecue, plus a chance to get up close and view some of Hunter Water’s most prized historical memorabilia.

Wrap up May with special events, including; National Simultaneous Storytime, on Wednesday, May 23. This annual campaign aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books. Every year in Australia, a picture book is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, preschools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. This year’s book will be Hickory Dickory Dash by Tony Wilson.

Bookings are essential for all activities and can be made online or at any Lake Mac Libraries branch. All events at Lake Mac Libraries are free unless otherwise specified.
