Alex and Pim Murray are passionate about Thai cooking and bring it to the people of Lake Macquarie and Newcastle through their two restaurants, one in Toronto and the other in New Lambton.
Toronthai Toronto sits on the edge of the beautiful Lake Macquarie and the view from the first floor eatery is divine.
So too is the food. Chef Pim has a rich history in Thai cooking having owned her first restaurant in Thailand at the age of 19.
Pim learnt her traditional Thai cooking by her mother’s side and began preparing dinner as soon as she could reach the kitchen bench.
Her family owns 6 award-winning restaurants in Thailand and 1 in England, all owned and operated by her four sisters.
The authentic tastes and flavours at Toronthai come from family guarded secrets and there are dishes at the restaurant that you would not find anywhere else in Australia.
Pim also adds her family twists to all your favourite Thai dishes.
Alex and Pim moved from Sydney to open Toronthai back in 2015 and love the beautiful setting they run their restaurant from, on the water’s edge of Lake Macquarie.
Scottish born Alex runs the floor with his traditional Scottish charisma which makes the trip to Toronthai a real delight.
Toronthai caters to all, with lunch available Tuesday to Friday (from $11.90 pp) dinner from 5pm Tuesday to Sunday and takeaway is also available. The Restaurant is fully licensed.
