Random dog patrols at Redhead Beach

Lake Macquarie City Council was pleased with the response from dog owners to the first information day staged at Webb Park, Redhead on Saturday, October 28.

Two rangers were at Webb Park from 9am to 2pm and about 35 dog owners took the opportunity to come and speak with the rangers about dog exercise regulations and responsible pet ownership. The rangers also distributed brochures to pet owners, who were generally receptive to the messages and information they delivered, reinforcing council belief that the majority of pet owners want to do the right thing.

A spokesperson for Lake Mac Council said: “The information sessions are part of a range of measures Council rangers are undertaking to ensure compliance with our dog exercise regulations. Further information sessions are now being considered due to the positive response to this one. New signage has been installed at Redhead and rangers will continue to carry out random patrols of the beach during the busy summer period.”
